Series 4 - 1 Week to go :-)
Just watched the second trailer for the new series starting next Saturday. Maybe it's just me, but they don't seem to be keeping too many things secret up to now. Looked like an awful lot of Daleks in that clip to me One puzzling thing though, why on Earth are they running it at 6.20pm instead of the more usual 7.00pm timeslot ? I suppose I'll have to get next weeks Radio Times to see what ITV are throwing up against it

I can't wait for it either, it looks like it's going to be a good series.
The reason for the timeslot is apparently so they can put the 'I'd do anything' show on in the later slot.

I can honestly say I haven't haven't been this excited about the start of a new series on TV for donkeys years. Fortunately, I don't have some people's prejudices towards Katherine Tate as I have only ever seen her on TV in the Dr Who Christmas Special

ive not seen the trailers, so didnt know it was starting lol.
im hoping it will be good, but im really not happy about CT being in the show, i thought she was passable and only just bearable in the xmas special in 2006, but im not a fan of hers so im hoping with billie and freya being back that she wont be in too many eps.

I just had a quick look to see what the other channels are putting up against Doctor Who this evening and I get the distinct impression they've thrown in the towel completely Even people who don't normally watch it may tune in as there really isn't anything else on at the same time worth bothering with

It was an ok ep, not the best season opener but OMG ROSE! It seems she can rift walk! Cribbins was great too. Tate didnt annoy me as much as I thought she would so i`ll give her the benifit of the doubt for a while. How cute were the Adipose!, I want one!

I thought it was a good start to the series, shame they didn't have Bernard Cribbins playing his original role, it would have been good for the Doctor to come across another ex companion. The Adipose were so sweet, not sure I'd want my own though
Rose, WOW, I felt so sad seeing her walking away having just missed the Dr.

Slightly puzzled about this suggestion. Apart from his cameo spot in the Christmas special, he has never been a companion to the Doctor in the TV series. He did appear as a companion in the film version of the Dalek Invasion of Earth story opposite Peter Cushing's Doctor Who. Is that what you were thinking of ?

I bet these will sell well if they are released as cuddly toys, though the plastic finish might be a bit odd

That's exactly the one I was thinking of or aren't the films classed as being a proper part of the Dr Who story?

No they aren't as they were just reworked big screen versions of the original TV series stories. Peter Cushing was playing William Hartnell's part and, to be honest, Bernard Cribbins was playing a character who wasn't even in the original story. The TV series still had both of the original school teachers acting as companions for the Doctor but was significant for seeing the departure of Susan Foreman, the Doctor's granddaughter. She remained on Earth, or more correctly was stranded on Earth by the Doctor who thought it was time she found her own path/future/etc.
