Children In Need Special Bit

Nicely done addition to the end of Series 3. If anything, somewhat better than the one two years ago. If you didn't see this little piece, you won't be left wondering what happened between the end of series 3 and the opening episode of series 4. If you missed the first CiN special, you were left with a few gaps that were only filled in if you got the special edition boxset.

I take it Peter Davison was playing the part of The Doctor when David Tennant first watched the series which is why he was 'my Doctor' ;)

I thought that too but Peter Davison didn't play the Doctor till 1982 and Tennant was born in 1971 which would have made him 11 when he first started watching Dr Who which seems a bit old for a kid growing up in the seventies - unless he didn't have a TV of course. Technically, I would have thought that Tom Baker would have been more 'his doctor'.

I was correct in my guess. If you follow this link and watch the short behind the scenes piece, David Tennant refers specifically to his being 11 and watching Peter Davison:

I was born in 69 and Tom Baker was my Doctor. Can vividly remember when he "died" and falling off Jodrell Bank antenna.

FWIW I think Tennant is a decent actor but I just don't like him at all. Totally irrational.
