What is wrong with CSI: Miami
OK, so I know that all of the CSIs are fiction and not intended to give a true picture of what actually happens in a real CSI investigation. However, CSI:Miami has just become so totally unbelievable it isn't even funny anymore. Every crime is solved in about half a day, including 2-3 autopsys, a chase, several fingerprint searches and at least one DNA test. They usually bring back a car or piece of the crime scene back to the lab in minutes. A few weeks back, Eric was involved in a domestic dispute during his lunch break, got served with some civil suit papers a couple of hours later and had settled out of court for $250,000 before tea time !!!!! In between, the man bringing the suit had been murdered, he and his wife were identified as scam artists who did this sort of thing for a living and a reject from Mutant X was unmasked as the real killer. All in an afternoons work for CSI:Miami people !!!
The principal female characters seem to be having a contest to see who can turn up at a crime scene displaying the greatest amount of cleavage. Nice eye-candy without question but is it really necessary..or are they hoping to distract (male) viewers from the lack of content in the storylines ?
Er...of course at this point I must concede that Emily Procter taking a bigger role in the storylines DOES manage to maintain my interest in the screen...though not the plot, or the dialogue, or the other scenery, or...... But does she really have to wear designer clothes to work every day ?
CSI:NY and CSI:Las Vegas do stretch things somewhat from time to time but not to the point of losing all credibility. Though if they pick out one more detailed piece of text from a low-res CCTV image that cracks the case I may scream ;)
So, is it just me or does a series like this really have to maintain some kind of contact with reality to remain watchable ?
