good idea, but surely flawed - as if the item is such a super deal, why wouldnt people just buy it themselves, unless it is self promotion, in which case its a scrap for the one or two copies.
lightningdiscs at playtrade have many top deals. ill list some if i can find them again.

Maybe - however, the main aim of this forum is not for individual small sellers, although we will allow this in the short term.
The main target is for bargains from big sellers such as caiman_usa and the other biggies on Amazon. These sellers have many copies of the same item, just like a normal web retailer.

While the big Region 1 suppliers like Caimen have unlimited supply I suppose, they don't at a particular price. You only have to look at how rapidly the prices change. And I'm pretty sure that most UK sellers don't have large stocks available. Even with reliable UK sellers there is an issue with them having gone out of stock and your order getting canceled a day or two later.
I have a wishlist on Amazon that I check daily for good MP prices on items I REALLY want, but even then I have several times missed out (and thats not on all that many orders). But my only chance at getting a bargain there was diligently checking for particular items and being lucky and quick enough. I fear that promoting these items here will lead to all the stock being bought up simply because its a bargain, and people really looking for titles missing out. I've NEVER seen an MP bargain be available for any length of time. There has always been an issue with a small number of buyers buying in quantity, but at least most reatilers generally have some significant stock available at offer prices. I just don't think that applies to Amazon MP. I've never used Playtrade so I can't speak for them.
Between the rapidly changing prices on MP and the often VERY limited supplies, I can't say I like the idea of this forum, on balance, at all. I can see it leading to frustration all around and fewer "genuine" buyers getting bargains at all.

Yes, maybe.
But i have had a significant number of requests for this forum, so its worth a trial to see if it will work.
If it doesn't work, we discontinue it.

Blimey, I didn't mean that to sound quite as critical as it did when I read it back. Sorry Wilko!
I'm just worried that the posting of low volume Market Place items could have the opposite effect from that intended - people regularly looking for good prices on specific items might be in fact far less likely to get them as they will sell out faster.
The trouble is that is the people who regularly check yet miss out that will suffer. I'm not sure that it will generally be seen as bad because people who are just buying a recommended bargain won't be that fussed if some get canceled.
I wish you could come up with a price watch system for MP - that would be really handy.

Well actually, our current AmazonWatch could do that, but we intentionally filter out MP items.
I'll speak to StevieTee and see if he can think of a technical reason why an MP price watcher wouldn't work.

Hi Guys
I think this is a good idea.
I really wanted the Aus R4&2 Callan series 3 & 4 but couldnt find any sources close to coming in under customs limits - prices like £25 to £45 per series - often with £5 shipping on top.
I got both delivered 'tax free' from Amazon Marketplace, new and sealed, for just over £30 the pair (average £15 per series) and a surprise bonus on the Callan movie too.
Thats not going to attract lots of customers but the prices were excellent, the service great, the security of Amazon guarantee and these suppliers had access to decent stock levels.
In my ideal world thats the kind of situation this forum can help. Decent deals but maybe minority interest compared to some of the main forum deals.

Also in the defence of this forum, I brought 2 X-Men Busts that were cheap on Amazon Marketplace, which were posted in the 'Other Bargains' forum, so I think depending on the item in question it can work, but I do see your point grambax. However, I think it's worth trialing.
