On a vaguely related note does anyone know if there's a simple way to go from an optical output to phono inputs on my TV?
My LCD is a couple of years old, and it's digital input is via DVI rather than HDMI. I picked up an HDMI to DVI lead for my DVD player thinking I'd be able to use phono leads for the sound (like with component) but it turns out the HDMI audio options are limited to either HDMI or optical. Alas I don't have an amp separte from the TV which I guess would be the obvious thing to do
Not the end of the world as component is fine, just a bit annoying...
