In Ancient Greece, a group of 300 Spartan warriors are all that stand against an unbeatable army. There’s plenty of blood and body parts being chopped off and some of the best put together fight scenes on film as well as some breathtakingly gory action, as bare flesh is stabbed by spears, heads are chopped off in close-up scenes and the screen is regularly showered in blood. Believe it or not there are actually a few ‘sexy time’ moments between King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) and Queen Gorgo (Lena Headley) thrown in to mix things up. So basically what I’m trying to say is that, there’s a little something for all those die hard action fans as well as those more into drama and romance. And let’s be totally honest here, just the sight of Butler and the rest of the male actors who make up the Spartan army (who ever they maybe, cause lets be honest I wasn’t checking face out here) running around in ‘codpieces’ that barely conceal the family jewels and little else is reason enough for most women to want to check out the film. What more can I say.
